NM Technology Council Unites with CyberUSA to Bridge Innovation and Cybersecurity
Washington, D.C. — July 9, 2025 — The New Mexico Technology Council (NMTC) has officially joined CyberUSA as its newest affiliate, expanding the national coalition’s reach and strengthening cybersecurity collaboration across the Southwest.
CyberUSA is a member-driven initiative that brings together public- and private-sector stakeholders to enhance cybersecurity readiness, innovation, and workforce development. As the newest affiliate, NMTC will contribute its local expertise, dynamic community programming, and collaborative leadership to the broader CyberUSA network.
“We’re excited to join CyberUSA and to bring New Mexico’s voice into this important national conversation,” said Mia Petersen, Executive Director & CEO of NMTC. “Cybersecurity is essential to the future of our state’s tech economy, and this partnership will give our members access to critical resources, strategic partnerships, and cybersecurity best practices from across the nation.”
The NMTC, a non-profit membership organization, has long been a force for innovation and inclusion in New Mexico’s tech sector. From flagship events like the New Mexico Tech Summit and Women in Tech Awards, to peer groups focused on quantum computing and other emerging technologies, NMTC serves as a platform for cross-sector collaboration and professional growth.
“Joining CyberUSA aligns perfectly with our mission to equip New Mexico’s tech community with the tools and connections it needs to thrive,” noted Petersen. “This affiliation will not only strengthen our local ecosystem, but also open doors for our members to engage with national leaders and new opportunities.”
The partnership reflects a growing recognition of regional innovation as a cornerstone of national cyber resilience.
“New Mexico has very strong technological leadership, and NMTC is helping shape what’s next,” said Adam Rak, Executive Director of CyberUSA. “We’re thrilled to welcome NMTC into the CyberUSA network and look forward to working together to support secure, connected communities across the country.”
With NMTC’s addition, CyberUSA continues to build a national framework for cyber collaboration — linking regional strengths with national strategies to help organizations of all sizes navigate today’s fast-changing threat landscape.
